The menu is noted for its classic dishes—particularly biscuits, brisket, and chicken and waffles—delivering nostalgic flavors reminiscent of homemade meals. I had an absolutely incredible experience at Loveless Cafe in Tennessee. From the moment we sat down, the service and hospitality were on another level. Our waitress, Megan, was fantastic. She was attentive, kind, and thoughtful throughout the meal. When we ordered the brisket, she made sure to offer extra BBQ sauce and au jus, which made the meal even better. It’s those little touches that show someone really cares about the guest experience. Johnathan, the manager, was equally impressive. He made a point to stop by every table, say hello, and have a genuine conversation with guests. You could tell he truly cares about the people dining there and the team he leads. The food was absolutely amazing. Between the incredible staff and the unforgettable meal, with 2 slices of Sunday brisket the length of my arm and an inch thick, I left thinking I had never truly eaten before, with a huge smile on my face. Loveless Cafe isn’t just a restaurant, it’s an experience, and the team there makes it something really special.
This is one of the few true home cooking restaurants still left in the world today. This is real, true just like grandma used to make homemade meals. There is no commercialization here and I hope they keep it away! This restaurant is worthy of a 5 out of 5 star review. Perfection in every area!
First time getting a chance to go here and what an experience. The staff are welcoming and kind, our server Kasey was knowledgeable of the menu and could direct you if you needed assistance. She even told me all the desserts off the top of her head. The biscuits taste like your grandma made them, the only problem with this place is you can’t show up hungry enough cause you’ll want to eat everything. I took my pie and banana pudding home.
First meal after arriving in Tennessee, and it was such a warm welcome. Everyone was genuinely friendly. The place is charming, with lots of photos of well-known people on the walls that add to the vibe. The chicken and waffles had great flavor (the chicken was especially tasty), but the portion of chicken felt a bit small compared to the huge waffle. The BBQ shredded pork was also really good, definitely worth ordering if that’s your thing. They also have a cute store with jams, seasoning and many whimsical things, including these silly prints.
The Loveless Cafe in Tennessee absolutely lives up to its legendary reputation! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and full of Southern charm. Our waitress, April, was truly amazing—so friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. She made us feel right at home and took great care of us throughout the entire meal. The owner was also incredibly friendly, taking the time to greet guests and making the whole experience feel personal and special. The food was delicious, comforting, and clearly made with love. This is the kind of place that makes you want to come back again and again—highly recommended!
5 stars aren't enough for this place, the best biscuits ever, these set the standard for biscuits, no one else is even close. The country fried steak was very tender and tasted great. The waitress, Allie, was fantastic taking time to explain the menu and just in general about the restaurant. Allie was the best!!
The Loveless Cafe is an absolute must-stop in Tennessee! Everything about our visit was fantastic — the food, the atmosphere, and the true Southern comfort vibe that makes this place so iconic. We started with the fried green tomatoes, and WOW… perfectly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with flavor. Then we tried the bologna sandwich, and it was hands-down one of the best I’ve ever had — thick-cut, perfectly cooked, and served exactly the way a classic Southern sandwich should be. The grilled chicken salad was also excellent — fresh, hearty, and a great lighter option that still felt satisfying. And the desserts… I’m still thinking about them. The coconut cream pie was to die for — rich, creamy, and absolutely perfect. But the real showstopper was the banana pudding… seriously the kind you dream about. Smooth, sweet, homemade goodness that tastes like pure Southern tradition. If you’re anywhere near Nashville, The Loveless Cafe is worth the trip. Come hungry, because you’ll want to try everything!
We seen Phil Rosenthal enjoy food at The Loveless Cafe on Somebody Feed Phil. We wanted to try it ever since and our opportunity presented itself. We were not disappointed! We are glad my wife thought to make reservations because when we got there, they were telling walk ups that the wait was about an hour and 20 minutes. Once seated, they brought their famous biscuits to the table with strawberry and peach jam…. OMG!! Some of the best biscuits I’ve had! Next, we ordered the pimento cheese and fried green tomato. Worth it! For our meals, my wife ordered The Famous Loveless Cafe Country Ham. She loved it! The red eye gravy is runnier than we thought it would be. It’s more like a au jus. I ordered the pulled pork barbecue omelet and it had a ton of meat in it! I wasn’t mad about it. After we ate, we also checked out the country store which had pretty cool merchandise. We also went into the souvenir shop and checked out a couple things. They have a ring toss and cornhole boards that can be played while waiting or walking around. They do offer a military discount in the restaurant and the country store.
